The Water Management Experimental Centre provides the departments of the Faculty of Civil Engineering with modern, high-quality facilities for research and teaching activities in the field of physical hydraulic research of water structures, hydrodynamic processes, and other water management issues.
In recent years, various departments have carried out a wide range of fundamental, applied, and contractual research projects here. Topics have covered, for example: the modernisation of water structures, increasing the safety of dams, the construction of artificial slalom courses, improving nautical conditions on watercourses, the issue of sewer dropshafts and combined sewer overflow in sewer systems, some hydropower matters, etc.
The projects were not only limited to the Czech Republic, but often extended abroad, for example, to the USA, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Japan.
